Terms of Service

Last updated: June 20, 2026

This is a general template provided as a starting point and is not legal advice. Please have a qualified attorney review and adapt it before relying on it.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of KindRise (the “Service”), operated by KindRise (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account, launching a campaign, or making a donation, you agree to these Terms.

1. What KindRise does

KindRise is a platform that lets organizers (“Fundraisers”) create donation pages and collect contributions from donors (“Donors”). KindRise facilitates payments but is not the recipient of donations. Funds are processed by Stripe and paid out to the Fundraiser’s connected Stripe account. KindRise does not control, endorse, or guarantee any campaign or how funds are ultimately used.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 18 years old to create a Fundraiser account.

3. Fundraiser responsibilities

  • You are solely responsible for your campaign content, claims, and the use of funds you receive.
  • You must comply with all applicable laws, including tax, charitable solicitation, and consumer protection laws.
  • You must not run campaigns for prohibited, fraudulent, misleading, or illegal purposes.
  • You are responsible for delivering on any promises made to your Donors and for handling refund requests.

4. Payments, fees, and payouts

Payment processing is provided by Stripe and is subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. KindRise charges a platform fee on each transaction as described at sign-up (for example, 0.75% per transaction, or 0.50% plus a monthly fee). Stripe’s processing fees also apply. Payouts to Fundraisers are handled by Stripe on its payout schedule. You authorize us to deduct applicable platform fees from processed transactions.

5. Donations

Donations are generally non-refundable except as required by law or as agreed by the Fundraiser. KindRise is not a party to the relationship between Donors and Fundraisers and does not guarantee that donations will be used for any stated purpose. Unless a campaign explicitly states otherwise, donations are not tax-deductible charitable contributions.

6. Prohibited use

You may not use the Service to engage in fraud, launder money, infringe intellectual property, harass others, or violate Stripe’s restricted businesses policy. We may suspend or remove campaigns and accounts that violate these Terms.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, KindRise is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts or omissions of Fundraisers or Donors.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
